SQ FT: 30,000

Cost: $8M

Services: Project Management, Pre-Construction Services

Casali provided pre-construction project management services on the HVAC, Acoustical and Sprinkler Upgrades to Paine Hall. Built in 1915, Paine Hall houses a 430-seat concert hall, five classrooms, faculty offices and nineteen practice rooms in the basement. The project included upgrades to the acoustical separation between floors. The HVAC system, original to the 1915 design, lacked air conditioning thus limiting the buildings usefulness in warmer months. By facilitating simultaneous use of practice rooms and the concert hall, and upgrading the HVAC systems, the project allowed for significant additional hours of practice year-round, and also enhanced acoustics in the FAS concert space they share with the university and the Greater Boston community. The installation of an automatic sprinkler system was also included in the scope of work.
